East Georgia Blitz FFL, Inc. is an NFL Flag Football League that is a developmental and competitive league. Once teams are established, players cannot be added or changed like in 7v7 leagues, except for injury replacements. We only draft 8 players on a team and we play 6 v 6, so there are only 2 extra players. This means that it is very important to have all players available for practices and games. We encourage kids to play multiple sports during the year; however, we recommend that you do not sign up your child for multiple sports during the same season. Players are required to attend 2 practices a week and will be playing in 2 games every Saturday of the season. When a child is signed up to play two sports in the same season, it is not fair to one of the teams, as the player cannot attend all the practices and games for both teams. Please commit to one sport per season and give 100% effort to one sport at a time. Your understanding on this is greatly appreciated.
Our refund policy is as follows:
100% refund (minus administrative fees charged to league by Square) - From registration until the day before the combine.
70% refund (minus administrative fees charged to league by Square) - From the combine day until 1 day before the draft.
50% refund (minus administrative fees charged to league by Square) - From the day of the draft until 1 day before uniforms are ordered.
No refund will be given after uniforms are ordered.
Participants of the East Georgia Blitz Flag Football League (EGB) will have fun while being physically active and will gain knowledge of the sport. Young athletes will learn every position on the field as well as football fundamentals. Experienced athletes will enhance their gameplay skills in a non-contact environment.
Practices will be conducted in various locations in Columbia County (see Practices below). Each team will play two games every Saturday from 9-3 PM , sometimes there is a 1-2 hour break in between games and sometimes they are back to back. All Rookie games are played at 9am and 9:30am. Game cancellations due to inclement weather will be made up as early as possible. All games will be held at the Greenbrier Middle School Football Field. A food truck will be on site every Saturday, so bring a tent and chairs for an enjoyable time with the East Georgia Blitz gameday experience!
Practice times and locations are up to the coaches. We provide practice fields at the Greenbrier Middle School field, Greenbrier Elementary Lacrosse Field and Parkway Baptist Church on WIlliam Few Pkwy; however some coaches choose to practice at Lakeside Park, Riverside Park and Mitchell Park. That is strictly up to the coach that drafts your player.
Each participant of East Georgia Blitz will receive an official NFL Flag Football reversible jersey, NFL Flag Football reversible shorts, matching uniform socks, and NFL Flag Football belt. Participants are required to wear a mouth guard (without a strap) and cleats. Metal cleats are not permitted.
Participants of East Georgia Blitz MUST be between the ages of 6-15 on August 1, 2026 . We have 2 co-ed divisions; The Pro Division 9-15 year olds and the Rookie Division 6-8 year olds. The Rookie Division is a developmental division designed to teach basic fundamentals of the game.
If your 9-10 year old is new to the sport, small or just needs experience before playing in the Pro Division, they can try out for the Rookie Division. If your 8 year old is highly experienced and would like to try out for the Pro Division, we can accommodate that as well.
See League information for gameplay rules.
Games will be held on Saturdays, spanning mid-morning (9am) to early afternoon (3pm). Each team will play two games every Saturday. Each team will play 10 regular season games. Playoff Tournament games are double elimination. The Pro-Bowl and Super Bowl will follow the regular season. Game play will consist of 6 v 6 for two 20-22 minute halves with a two minute halftime.
East Georgia Blitz's unique gameplay of two squads in the Pro Division enables siblings of various ages to be on the same team. Please note participating siblings when you register. We do not accept Non-sibling team requests, as teams are created via live coaches draft.
Rookie Division players 6-8 will be on a separate team from the Pro Division players.
After you register, you will receive a confirmation email that your registration has been submitted. A welcome email will be sent to all parents after registration closes. After team evaluations, coaches will draft their players. Rosters and game schedules will be posted on the East Georgia Blitz website and Facebook page. Occasional updates will also be posted to the East Georgia Blitz Facebook page.
Teams are selected by a coaches draft. We hold a Combine (player evaluations) which gives the coaches an opportunity to evaluate the skill level of each player. Coaches will assign each player a Combine Rating (CR) score between 1 and 30 to assist them in drafting their team. The combine will consist of route running, catching drills, cone drills, throwing and the 40 yard dash. All players must participate in the combine to play. Please make every effort to make the combine and make sure that each player gives 100% in the combine, which will insure a fair and honest evaluation on all the players. We do not allow requests for players to be on the same team and do not allow requests for players to only be drafted to a team that practices at a certain location.
Once the league is full, we will put newly registered players on a waiting list, which we call the Waiver Wire. All players on the Waiver Wire will be evaluated at the combine. If any players drop from the league after the combine but before the draft, the Waiver Wire players will be added to the league in the order they registered and be available to draft. If any players drop from the league after the draft, the coaches will replace the lost players with a player from the Waiver Wire. The coach must replace the player they lost with a player from the Waiver Wire with the same Combine Rating (CR) or as close as possible . Any players who register after the draft will be placed on a separate non-evaluated waiting list. If the Waiver Wire does not have enough players for a coach to pull from, a combine will be scheduled for the non-evaluated players and they must be evaluated at a Combine before they can be placed on the Waiver Wire list.
Each participant must attend the combine. If you absolutely cannot attend the combine, EGB will make a decision of eligibility or a make up combine on a case by case basis.
Registration opens August 1st. The Player Evaluation (Combine) will be the beginning of January and the Draft usually occurs within a week or two after the combine. Practices will begin the week after the draft and the start of the season will be the first Saturday of March. We will have a Pre Season games the last Saturday of February. Dates for the Combine are announced after the league is full.
All decisions that impact players, coaches, games and rules are brought to the attention of our our coaches. Coaches are given a vote and decisions are made by majority vote. We feel that this is the best way to handle any discrepancies and helps make our league as successful as possible.
